Moodbidri, March 27, 2024 : Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It's a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, Christians seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; they serve by giving alms; and they practice self-control through fasting. They are called not only to abstain from luxuries during Lent, but to a true inner conversion of heart as they seek to follow Christ's will more faithfully.

Parishioners of St. Francis Xavier Church, Saverapura, Murkoth Palke visited the less privileged as part of their Lenten mission and made the season more meaningful under the guidance of the Parish Priest Rev Fr Noel Mascarenhas.

Youths of ICYM Saverapura (SSFX) paid a visit to Navachethana special school, Venur on March 10 and spent time with the children there.

Members from St Antony Ward of the parish visited PRAJNA Govt Aided Girls' Children Home at Souharda Nagara, Murkoth Palke on March 24. They interacted with the inmates & spent valuable time with them.
