Sagar, May 6: The long cherished dream of the people of Sagar became a reality on 6th May 2015 with the dedication of the newly built St. Joseph's Church.

Bishop Francis Serrao who arrived at 9 a.m. was welcomed at the gate by the Parish Priest and the Parish Council members. Thereafter he blessed the newly built belfry and the grotto.

The contractor, Mr. Correa handed over the key of the new Church to the Bishop who solemnly opened the Main Door of the new Church. The Dedication ceremony included the Blessing of the Crucifix, Lectern, Altar, Tabernacle and the Adoration Chapel.

The dignitaries at the Public Function included Mr. Kagodu Thimmappa, Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Mrs. Lalitamma, President of Sagar Municipality, Sr. Wilberta, Superior General of Bethany Congregation, Sr. Lilitta, Provincial Superior of Bethany Congregation. A souvenir, 'Dhanya' was released on the occasion. The programme ended with a fellowship meal for all the faithful.
