Mangaluru, Aug 17 : ‘Learning is pleasurable but doing it is the height of enjoyment' is a famous quote and the students of St Theresa’s School, Bendur got to experience this spirit of patriotism by means of many activities conducted in the school from the 2nd of August till the 17th of August, 2022. 'Nation First , Always First’ was the theme given by the Government of India in order to celebrate the Azaadi ka Amrith Mahotsav, the nation’s 75th Independence Day this year and the students were given self awareness about this by conducting special assemblies and by taking part in various competitions and activities.

  • Azaadi ka Amrith Mahotsav celebrations started on August 2nd as the students of grade I and II had the Button Art Competition .They stuck colourful buttons on the outline map of India.
  • The Pre-Kg children shaded the National Flag.
  • The tiny tots of the kindergarten had a speech competition about freedom fighters on the 8th of August.
  • The students of grade IV B and IV C  conducted a meaningful Independence Day assembly on the 11th of August.
  • The students of Kindergarten as well as Grade I and II had their class wise patriotic singing competition on the 12th of August.
  • The class wise and house wise bulletin boards on the theme ‘Independence Day’ were judged on the 13th of August.
  • The school celebrated Independence Day on the 15th of August which included the school band playing for the March past  and flag hoisting.
  • The primary students culminated the independence day celebration by having a special independence day assembly by the students of grade II B followed by the class wise patriotic singing competition for grades III to V on the 16th of August and the colouring of the National flag by the students of Std 1 and 2.

The students celebrated this week with much enthusiasm, splendour and patriotic fervour. The students basked in this spirit of patriotism and bowed to the selfless sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The students pledged to strive to make our country a better place for all to live and experience freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
