Mangaluru, Aug 17 : The 75th Independence Day held at Nehru Maidan was led with pomp and splendour with its annual parade with the theme “Nation First, Always First”. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Ms Geetha Kulakarni, and RPI Subramanya were the parade commanders this year. The hoisting of the National Flag was conducted by District Minister In-Charge Sunil Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Dr KV Rajendra, Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar, and other dignitaries of the district administration. The tradition of the day was observed by the guard of honour in which the Women’s Police Wing, DK Police Unit, DK Home Guard Unit, Civil Police Mangaluru, DK Fire Brigade, KSRP and CAR Mangaluru and NCC, Scouts and Guides and RSP units of various schools of Mangalore participated.

St. Theresa’s School is overjoyed to appreciate its RSP Girls Platoon for bringing laurels to the institution by winning first place in the guard of honour parade. The administration of the school proudly congratulates the RSP students and their teachers in charge, Mrs. Gladys Lobo and Mr. Rajesh G. for their ceaseless preparation for the parade. It is through their efforts and the constant support of the students and their parents that this honour could be achieved. The stalwart teamwork of the students is a shining example for us all to lead the nation into the brightness of the future, cherishing our Independence and bringing it to its full potential.
