Mulki, Aug 15, 2022 : India celebrates its 75 years of Independence as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate its freedom. On this day, we Indians celebrate our heroes and freedom fighters that sacrificed their lives for the nation to bring us freedom, peace, and joy. With this great pride and enthusiasm Bethany English Medium School, Mulki celebrated the 76th Independence Day.

On this special occasion, the programme started with a Prayer song followed by flag hoisting by Mr Gopinath Padanga, the Vice President of Grama Panchayat Kilpady Mulki. Sr Marie Lyta the correspondent and President, Rev. Fr. Abraham , Director of Divine Call Centre, Mr. Lancy Almeida, the Vice President and Sr Rita Sharal the Headmistress were present for the same. Mr Gopinath Padang, Sr Marie Lyta and Mr Lancy Almeida addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. They also emphasized the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country.

This was followed by a musical rendition by the school choir which sang patriotic songs that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the motherland. The students performed tricolour drills with various props.

Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity. The whole programme was compered by Mrs Preetha and Mrs Anet.
