Mangaluru, Jul 1 : The inauguration of campus recruitment drive by the Association of People with Disabilities, organised by department of Physiotherapy Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) was held at the decennial hall here on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Addressing the gathering, director Father Muller Charitable Institution, Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho said, “We are delighted to witness the very first recruitment drive at our campus. They have a mission to serve the underprivileged, that is, to heal and comfort. These virtues have been imparted to our students since the very beginning. We wish that a large number of students make it through and go ahead to selflessly serve the society. I wish all the students the very best and an illustrious future ahead.”

President of Association of People with Disabilities, Dr Nishad Kasim expressed that it was indeed a pleasure to represent the association of disability. “This was the very first campus recruitment drive which has been planned efficiently, despite being informed on a short notice. This is the first time where we witnessed an NGO coming out for a campus recruitment drive at Father Muller. I have learnt that the experienced staff who have trained all of you on various subjects such as rehabilitation have also provided you with ample exposure of visiting special schools and orphanages and thus, you have a greater understanding of the community needs. At the onset, we were quite apprehensive of all these aspects, but now, we are assured of the quality of education and knowledge you have garnered.”

Administrator Fr Ajith Menezes, and Dean Dr Anthony D Souza were present.

Course coordinator department of Physiotherapy Prof Cherishma D'Silva welcomed the gathering, and Jonica Johnny compered the event and rendered the vote of thanks. Around 10 students were recruited by the NGO. The rest of the students for the Masters programme and later on sought the NGO for their placement.
