Mangaluru, Jun 22 : "Yoga adds years to your life and life to your years" - Alan Finger.

St. Agnes CBSE School recognised international yoga day on 21st June 2022 with much fervor and enthusiasm.

The day began with listening to relaxing music at the morning assembly for meditation followed by a short prayer, reading the benefits and importance of yoga by the students of grade VI which helped them to connect with their inner self.

A short programme was conducted with a prayer service followed by reciting mantras of yoga.

The Principal Sr. Maria Gracilda AC, the Administrator Sr. Edna Furtado AC, Vice Principal Sr. Lenita AC and coordinator Sr Sweedal Fernandes A.C inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Ahana Adiga, the national level yoga performer of grade VI performed different postures of yoga according to the protocol of Ayush Ministry Government of India.

A unique rhythmic yoga performance was exhibited by the students of grade IX.

The students of grade I - X performed various asanas with the help of their yoga instructor, who also explained the importance of those asanas simultaneously. The boundless peace of doing the asanas was amply visible from the faces of the students. This encouraged students to practice yoga regularly in order to remain fit and to improve concentration.

The teachers also actively participated in performing different asanas which helped them to calm their mind and body. The teachers in charge of this activity were Sumitra, Vijetha and the PE trainers.

The management, the administrator, and the principal wishes everyone Happy International Yoga Day.
