Chitradurga, May 19 : 14th May 2022 became a memorable day at Assumption School, Hiriyur. On this day 1990-1991, 7th standard Assumption Kannada Higher Primary School (AKHPS) batch reunion was held, also honouring their teachers was held at Assumption School, Hiriyur.

A reunion and honouring of their teachers program was organised by Mr. Siddhesh, Mr. Shankara Moorthy, Mr. Govind Raj, Mr. Nayaz and Mr. Arogya swamy together with their classmates.

Program began at 10am with lighting of the lamp by Rev. Fr Franklin D'Souza, Manager and Correspondent of Assumption Schools and Rev. Fr Alphonse Nelson D'Souza, Principal of Assumption English High School.

Present on the dais were Fr Franklin D'Souza, Fr Nelson D'Souza, Fr Stany Mariyappa then Manager and Correspondent, Sr. Alwyn present HM of AKHPS, Sr. Kalista HM of 1990-91 batch. Teachers who taught this batch - Ms. Jeevan Mary, Ms. Chandrakantamma, Md. Triveni, Ms. Patricia, Ms. Jacinta Mary, Ms. Philomena and Ms. Veronica were present and all of them were honoured by their students.

Fr Franklin D'Souza in his speech appreciated the initiative taken by this batch and their thoughtfulness to remember and honour their teachers. He also said this is the result of values taught by the school. Coming together after 30 years is a great achievement and commitment.

Fr Nelson D'Souza in his speech said that there two types of programs one is organised another one is done with great joy in one's heart. Today's program is a joyful event for the 1990-91 batch. He appreciated their enthusiasm and love for the School where they have studied.

Sr. Kalista said that she never experienced such joy in her life. This was a great moment of her life. She was proud of her students. All the teachers shared their thoughts.

From the batch Siddhesh, Govind Raj, Shankar Moorthy, Asha and Veda shared their experiences. Nayaz sang a beautiful song on behalf of the batch. Above all this event became a historical one.

Meals were served for the gathering by the reunion batch.
