Bengaluru, Aug 13, 2021 : “It takes lives to save lives “.

Organ Donation Day is commemorated on 13th August every year since its inception in 2010, with the aim to motivate normal human beings to pledge to donate organs after death.

Mary Immaculate School , Wilson Garden in the city decided to dedicate this day to salute the innumerable organ donors who have gone that extra mile in extending the lives of complete strangers.

The program started with an introduction on the importance of the day by Fariza Firdos, Bindu V, Anushka Aithal and Lakshitha. The prayer service was led by Hazel and Jeslin singing the praise and worship song , followed by prayers by Prarthana, Sariya Fathima, Geethali, Suchithra, Bibi Saara and Reena Riecelle William. Dance depicting organ donation were performed by Janmitha, Vaishnavi, Samyuktha and Janitha. A multilinguistic song adoring the Almighty for his wondrous creation was sung by Amanda, Andrea, Abiya, Jeslin, Hazel, Felcy, Judith, Sowmya and Jittu and it was compiled and edited by Andrea.

A skit about “Giving and living on…” was beautifully enacted by Nimra, Atifa Tahmeem and Harini. Dr. Bhargavi, an Immaculite explained the various kinds of organ donation. Mrs. Ranjini of MOHAN Foundation talked about how we can give a gift of life to others and become a ray of hope. Sr. Rosevera in her message thanked Mrs. Ranjini and Dr. Bhargavi for their help in conducting this program. Sister also reiterated the importance of joining hands to be donors for saving others’ lives.
