Mangaluru, Jan 31 , 2024 : The great sacrifice of the unsung heroes of our nation is recognized on January 30th every year as Martyrs’ Day and World Peace Day in remembrance to the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Various institutions on this day observe 1minute of silence to mark a reverence to the greatest contribution done to our nation by Mahatma Gandhiji.

St Agnes School CBSE recognized this day with great patriotism and fervor by organizing a short programme on Jan 30th in Block II Hall. A resounding and divine prayer service with a prayer dance was presented by the students. The gathering was given a cheerful welcome which added great meaning to this programme. As a symbolic representation, a floral gesture was offered to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. The significance of the day was put forth by the students stating a splendid meaning to the celebrations. A mesmerizing dance performance was put forth by the students. A skit of Sacrifice done by the Martyrs was enacted by the students. Under the able guidance of the teachers, grade II students performed at their best.

Mrs Reena Monterio the faculty of St Agnes School CBSE was the Chief guest for the event. She congratulated the students for their participation and presentation of the programme. She highlighted the importance of the day by urging the students to always be in peace and harmony. The dedicated life of the martyrs is the fruit of the life we are enjoying in this world was well spoken by the Chief Guest.

The Vice Principal Sr . Lenita Lobo A.C , staff and students participated in the programme. Srivatsa and Diona Jia Machado compered the programme, Riyana Miranda welcomed the gathering and Vote of thanks was given by Jisha. G Kottari expressing gratitude for the active participation. The final curtains were drawn with the singing of the School Anthem.
