Mangaluru, Jan 26 , 2024 : A tale of reverence and patriotism, Republic Day stands as a momentous occasion in the history of India, marking the advent of the republic and the implementation of the constitution on January 26th, 1950. The day is celebrated with great fervour, with grand military and cultural spectacles, and is acknowledged through the hoisting of the national flag and cultural events in educational institutions and government offices.

At St Agnes CBSE School, the day was honoured in a solemn ceremony, with the unfurling of the tricolour and a prayer to the nation at 8:45 AM. The Chief Guest, Mr. Manjunath, proprietor of Nisarga Advertisement and Events Management Company, graced the event with his presence, accompanied by the school band, Principal Sr Maria Sarika A.C., Vice Principal Sr Lenita Lobo A.C., Administrator Sr. Edna Furtado A.C, K.G Coordinator Sr M. Letetia A.C and Coordinator Sr Sweedal Fernandes A.C.

The cultural program took place in Block II hall, with a captivating invocation seeking divine blessings and a delightful welcome dance extending warmth to the audience. The students sang a patriotic song, accompanied by a mesmerizing dance, instilling a sense of oneness among all. The students also presented a tableau on fundamental rights and duties, adding to the grandeur of the event.

The Chief Guest commended the students for their meaningful presentation and emphasized the importance of patriotism and love for the country. He urged them to seize every opportunity to serve the nation, thus fostering a spirit of gratitude and responsibility towards the motherland.

The program also acknowledged the winners of various competitions, including the English Olympiad, Maths Talent, and Science Talent, at the national, state, and district levels. The event was hosted by Risha Crasta, Shreya CP, and Vrushank, while Megan Veigas and Alvia extended warm greetings and expressed their gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event.

To mark the occasion, sweets were distributed, adding a sweet fragrance to the air and a sense of closure to the program.
