Media Release

Manjeshwar, April 16 : A family from Pondicherry was living in Surathkal of Mangalore and earning their daily wages. In the year 2017, Kalyani went missing and family members searched for her and approached Surathkal Police Station to lodge a missing complaint.

Unfortunately, the Police didn’t receive their complaint and the father also met with an accident and the helpless Mother and Son went back to Pondicherry. The search for Kalyani and hope for her return was successful through Snehalaya Manjeshwar after 6 years of her missing.

Kalyani was rescued by Kankanady Police after her missing in 2017 and brought to Prajna Centre. And in 2023 April she was shifted from Prajna Counselling Center, where she had lived for more than five years, to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Center for the treatment of her psychiatric issues. Along with the treatment, the Snehalaya Team made her participate in various therapeutic activities.

After getting some details about her native, the team contacted the local body and people at Pondicherry and were successful in tracing her family. The hope, belief, and awaiting news of helpless mother and son made them rejoin their beloved Kalyani. They got a call from Snehalaya and they started their way to Kerala to reach Snehalaya.

The Snehalaya Family witnessed a great and joyful moment as Kalyani was reunited with her beloved family. Kalyani and her family were thankful to Brother Joseph Crasta the founder of Snehalaya who guided his team in the reunion of Kalyani.
