Manjeshwar, April 13 : On 12th April 2023 around 12 noon, Brother Joseph Crasta, the Founder of Snehalaya received a call from the office of Post Commander, Railway Protection Force of Southern Railway / Mangalore Jn. requesting to rescue and provide care and treatment to a young girl who was loitering in a suspicious manner. She had lost her bag and documents and was in a panic and depressed state.

As per the guidance, Team Snehalaya rescued Tejasvini Dewase and after the queries came to know that she is from Nagpur and left home without informing the parents. Since she needed accommodation and psychological support the Railway officers handed her over to Snehalaya Psycho Social Rehabilitation Home for Women.

After her admission and counselling at Snehalaya, the team contacted Nagpur Police Station and shared her details. Meanwhile, the team also contacted and traced her college and tried to get the details of her parents. After receiving the parents’ contact details the team had a telephone interaction with her father Mr Ramesh Dewase who was a retired employee of the PWD Dept. The team ensured the correct details of the parents and on 13th April they came down to Snehalaya from Nagpur.

Mr Ramesh Dewase received her daughter after 5 days of missing and thanked Snehalaya and Railway Police for their selfless service in rescuing and reuniting a young lady, who lost all her belongings and was in a depressed state.

Counsellors of Snehalaya had a separate counselling session for father and daughter and a family counselling too. Her father was advised to take her to the counsellors for a few sessions. Mr Ramesh and their family members were happy to receive Tejasvini Dewase back in a safe and healthy state.
