Prior to 1935, Nidpalli was part of Mai de Deus parish, Puttur. Parish Priest of Puttur Fr J. A. Rodrigues fulfilled the need of a Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary at Nidpalli in February 1935.
