Feb 19, 2019 : Karnataka Goa province of the Carmelites organized a conference for the Secular Camelites at Divine Spirings Retreat Centere, Xellim Canacona. Vicar Provincial of Proivince Rev. Fr. Pius James Dsouza presided over inaugural Euchristic Celebration. He reflected on the life of Prophet Elijah and asked the secular Carmelites to be zealous for God. "We need to cultivate among us the values of togetherness, Holiness and happiness", he said.

75 Secular Carmelites from Margao, Mumbai, Bajjodi, Mangalore, Koteshwar, Mysore and Honnavar participated in the day long programme to mark the 400 years of Carmelite presence in Goa . Former General of the Discalced Carmelites and Provincial of Navara Province Fr. Luis Arostegui presided over the Eucharistic celebration on the concluding day along with Provincial of Karnataka-Goa Province Fr. Chalres Serrao and other Priests.

Provincial delegate for the Secular Carmel Fr. Rovel D’souza co-ordinated 3 day programme. Spiritual Directors of Secular Carmel were present on the occasion.
