Mangaluru, Sep 7 : In observance of The International Girl Child Day and to celebrate The Nativity Feast, St. Agnes CBSE School organised a short prayer service on 7th Sep. 2019 in the school. This was an initiative to throw light on the importance of the Girl Child and to go beyond ourselves in charity. Dr. Sr. Maria Roopa, Joint Secretary and Superior, was the special guest of the day.

The day began with the Nativity procession led by the school band to the rhythm of the Christian hymn ‘Let us Mingle together’ sung in unison in Konkani along with students of the St Agnes CBSE and Kannada medium schools. This was followed by a meaningful prayer service, invoking the blessings of Mother Mary. Students offered flowers to Our Lady as a mark of love and respect for all the graces they have received.

Under the guidance of Sr. Venitha and Sr. Meera, the Carmel Blossoms of grades 6th to 10th, came up with the novel idea of collecting charity in kind, which were later distributed them among the Kannada Medium students.

This was a perfect way to usher in the Nativity Feast through prayer and community service. Kudos to Agnesians!!
