Mangaluru, Mar 3 : ‘Relish-2K19’,  one-day food festival was organised by the Hotel Management department of Milagres college, Hampankatta, Mangaluru at Milagres church grounds on March 3, 2019 at 8.00 am.

Program was inaugurated by Mr Walter Dsouza , President of Karnataka cashew manufacturers' association. Fr Valerian Dsouza, Correspondent of Milagres college conducted the prayer service. Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor - Principal, Mrs Lavina - Vice president , PTA, Mr Dezil - lecturer, Mr Ivan Dsouza - Secretary Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs Cecilia Pereira - Vice president of Parish Pastoral Council were present at the inaugural program.

Addressing the gathering Mr Walter said , "Today food industry is in high demand. Due to the busy schedule of people, they are more dependent on hotel food. As per the survey conducted, around 80 percent of the people do not prepare food at home, they borrow it from Hotels or Malls. This number signifies rich openings of the new jobs in hotel industry". He said such collaborated events should happen in Mangaluru and he is eager to work with Milagres Hotel Management department to conduct the programs in a bigger way.

Fr Santhumayor said this event is part of the hotel management students project. He said such program will help students to get hands on experience on customer management, marketing and selling skills which is part of their academics. In this event importance given to the food that is liked by local people.

Seven stalls were put up which contained baked cakes, pastries, kababs, soft drink counter etc.
